Hiya, you found me! I’m Nicole, a Scottish girl who has been living the gypsy lifestyle for the past 3 years. After leaving South Korea where I was an English teacher by day and travel blogger by night, I’m now on an indefinite, overland journey through Latin America. Let me tell you a bit more about how I got where I am today.
In March 2014 I left my comfortable “big girl’s job” in Edinburgh for a year of teaching phonics, eating kimchi and topping up my piggy bank in South Korea. It took me 3 years to leave! In that time I’ve learned that travel isn’t restricted to the high rollers or gap year kids with unlimited trust funds. Trust me, I’m neither of them. I’m a huge advocate of making travel affordable and you can find loads of advice on my blog about how you can stretch your money and make travel a lifestyle rather than just a holiday.

Since arriving in South Korea, I’ve filled my passport with a lot more stamps than I could ever have imagined! I’ve ate sushi in Tokyo, snorkelled in crystal clear seas in The Philippines and rode a camel through the Rajasthan Desert. This has all been through smart budgeting and using the money that I’ve made Teaching English abroad.
My journey in Korea might be over but the adventure definitely is not! What started as a year long cultural experience has sparked a whole new life of travel. This Wee Gypsy is going global!
My plan for the foreseeable future is to see as much of the world as I can. However, rather than staying in 5 star hotels and taking first class flights, I’ll be showcasing unique and affordable accommodation and showing you the adventurous way to get around. It definitely won’t be all pina coladas on the beach either. As a digital nomad, I’ll be working on the road to fund my adventures. I would love to have you along for the journey too and show you that this lifestyle is not just for the elite. It can be your life too. If you want it to be.
I hope you’ll join me on this gypsy journey around the world. I want to make this friendship official so let’s be pals on Facebook so that we can keep each other updated on our latest adventures.
Peace, love and happy travels.
